Going South Again by Car: 29.10.2019 Preveza

C’est aujourd’hui qu’Hera II est mise à terre. Jens part tout seul pour traverser le « fjord », cela prend 15 mn, et moi je vais en voiture,. Spyros est là aussi. Même opération que les autres fois. Un voilier est sorti de l’eau juste avant Hera II et ses propriétaires suivent cela. A un moment la dame m’appelle « Jeannette » ! C’est un couple d’Allemands que nous avions rencontré la première fois en Sardaigne en septembre 2016. Puis une deuxième fois à Preveza le printemps dernier, dans la rue. Et maintenant, une troisième fois ici, par hasard. Elle s’appelle Beate et lui Hans Jörgen. Ils sont venus d’Allemagne avec leur camping car, un vrai. Nous parlons un peu puis c’est le tour d’Hera II d’être sortie de l’eau. Nous décidons ensuite de déjeuner ensemble, et comme Beate n’aime pas monter l’échelle, nous le faisons dans leur camping car. Très sympa, nous parlons bateau, famille, Brexit et Trump et sommes bien d’accord. Ils prennent un ferry ce soit pour l’Italie. C’était un plaisir de se revoir. Après le déjeuner nous continuons de ranger, nettoyer, descendre les deux drapeaux et nous mettons une bâche sur Hera II. Le soir nous dinons du doggy bag d’avant-hier, le poulet à la crème, c’est bon et bien assez. Nous dinons dedans, les moustiques sont agressifs ici ce soir.

It is today that Hera II is put on the ground. Jens leaves alone to cross the "fjord", it takes 15 minutes, and I go by car, Spyros is here too. Same operation as the other times. A sailboat came out of the water just before Hera II and their owners follow that. At one point the lady calls me "Jeannette"! It is a couple of Germans that we met the first time in Sardinia in September 2016, then a second time in Preveza last spring, in the street, and now, a third time here, by chance. Her name is Beate and he is Hans Jörgen. They came from Germany with their camper van, a real one. We talk a little together then it is the turn of Hera II to be taken out of the water. We then decide to have lunch together, and as Beate doesn’t like climbing the ladder, we do it in their camper. Very nice, we are talking about boat, family, Brexit and Trump and we agree a lot. They take a ferry for Italy tonight. It was a pleasure to see each other again. After lunch we continue to tidy up, clean, get the two flags down and put a tarpaulin on Hera II. In the evening we eat the doggy bag from the day before yesterday, the chicken in cream sauce, it's good and enough. We dine inside, the mosquitoes are aggressive here tonight.
