Going South Again by Car: 25.10.2019. Une petite baie à l'est de Céphalonie/A small bay on Cephalonia east coat

Beau, chaud, calme. Pas très bien dormi, à 5 h des camions commencent à arriver pour prendre le ferry, Poros est le port des ferries qui relient Céphalonie au continent. La flotille part avant 9 h, et nous, nous allons faire un tour en vélo, d’abord le long de la plage puis vers le canyon qui sépare le village en deux. C’est un vrai canyon, profond, étroit et à l’ombre, il y fait presque froid. Nous montons, passons le canyon et arrivons dans une vallée large et ensoleillée. Dans le canyon, je vois une magnifique fleur bleue que je n’ai vu qu’une fois avant, cela me met de bonne humeur pour toute la journée. Nous rentrons à Hera II et partons. Nous passons entre Céphalonie et Ithaca et remontons vers le nord. Arrêt baignade dans Ormos Andisamis. Hera II avance encore un petit peu et je ne m’éloigne guère de l’échelle quand je nage. Nous repartons et déjeunons en route, et longeons la côte de Céphalonie de près pour trouver une baie où ancrer. La première, Ormos Yagiana est jolie mais un signe dit « Ancrage interdit ». La deuxième est trop petite. La troisième, Kalo Limini, est trop « civilisée », il y a deux maisons. Enfin, nous trouvons une petite baie bien sauvage entre Kalo Limini et Sikidi. Nous ancrons, nous baignons et allons explorer à terre. C’était surement cultivé autrefois, on voit encore des terrasses, mais maintenant c’est une forêt. Un bassin recueille de l’eau, il a été fait en 1971 et a toujours de l’eau. Un petit bassin extérieur a de l’eau pour les bêtes. Retour à Hera II et, comme j’ai finis le blog, je fais le diner : carottes râpées, œufs à la tomate, et biscuits au chocolat comme dessert. C’est calme, obscure, nous pouvons nous sentir seuls au monde.

Beautiful, warm, calm. I didn’t sleep very well, at 5 o'clock trucks start to arrive to take the ferry, Poros is the port of ferries that connect Kefalonia to the mainland. The flotilla leaves before 9 am, and we go for a bike ride, first along the beach and then to the canyon that cuts the village in two. It is a true canyon, deep, narrow, and in the shade it is almost cold. We climb, pass the canyon and arrive in a wide and sunny valley. In the canyon, I see a beautiful blue flower that I have seen only once before, it puts me in a good mood for the whole day. We return to Hera II and leave. We pass between Kefalonia and Ithaca and go north. Stop for swimming in Ormos Andisamis. Hera II is not relly stopped and I don’t go far from the ladder when I swim. We leave and have lunch on the way, and skirt the coast of Cephalonia up close to find a bay where to anchor. The first, Ormos Yagiana is pretty but a sign says "Anchor Prohibited". The second is too small. The third, Kalo Limini, is too "civilized", there are two houses. Finally, we find a small wild bay between Kalo Limini and Sikidi. We anchor, bathe and explore on land. It was cultivated in the past, we still see terraces, but now it's a forest. A pond collects water, it was made in 1971 and still has water. A small bassin has water for the animals. Back to Hera II and, as I finished the blog, I'm cooking dinner: grated carrots, eggs and tomato, and chocolate cookies as a dessert. It's calm, dark, we can almost feel alone in the world.
