Going South Again by Car: 24.10.2019 Poros (Céphalonie/Cephalonia)

Beau, chaud et calme. Un chat a dormi sur un coussin dans le cockpit, il est plein de poils. Jens remplit le réservoir d’eau. la jauge marque plein, mais ce n’est pas vrai. Nous allons chercher le linge à la laverie et faisons quelques courses. Je fais une photo du ferry qui va à Argostoli. Ils (ils sont trois) partent toutes les demi-heures de 7 h du matin à 22 h 30 du soir. Les gens l’utilisent beaucoup, par la route c’est au moins 45 mn et par le ferry 20 mn. La route doit aller tout au fond du fjord et revenir, c’est long. Nous partons à 11 h 45 en direction de Paros, un port au sud-est de Céphalonie. Nous avions pensé aller à Argostoli, mais la météo n’est pas bonne pour la semaine prochaine, donc nous commençons notre retour vers Preveza. Cinq voiliers sortent d’Argostoli et vont dans la même direction que nous. Nous nous arrêtons entre une petite ile avec une chapelle (encore une), stoppons bien Hera II et nous nous baignons à tour de rôle. Pas besoin d’ancrer, il n’y a pas de vent du tout et Hera II reste bien en place. Jens se baigne d’abord puis moi. Comme cela, si le vent se lève, il y a toujours quelqu’un à bord. Nous déjeunons en route du doggy-bag du restaurant d’hier soir, le reste de poulet. Nous continuons vers Poros, et après avoir tourné le cap sud, nous avons encore un arrêt baignade. Nous nous approchons de Poros et les cinq voiliers se dirigent aussi vers Poros. Nous avions espéré pouvoir nous mettre en long (ou plutôt, j’avais espéré), mais il n’y a pas tant de place et en plus, Jens veut essayer le winch de l’ancre arrière. Nous nous mettons donc le nez sur le quai et l’ancre à l’arrière, pas de problème. Nous reconnaissons Poros, nous y étions venu avec notre Maja en juin 2015, en compagnie du Longway de nos amis Fritz et Margret. Le ferry est ici et prend de nombreux camions. Je crois que Poros est le grand port de ferries entre Céphalonie et le continent. Les cinq voiliers sont loués par un groupe d’Ukrainiens. Nous dinons à la taverna Agrapidos, en haut d’un escalier. Nos voisins de table sont ukrainiens. L’homme dit beaucoup de bien d’Hera II (traduit par sa compagne) et elle nous dit que c’est la première fois qu’elle fait du bateau.

Beautiful, warm and calm. A cat has slept on a cushion in the cockpit, it is full of hair. Jens fills the water tank, the gauge marks full, but it's not true. We pick up the laundry and do some shopping. I'm taking a picture of the ferry going to Argostoli. They (there are three of them) leave every half-hour from 7 am to 10:30 pm. People use it a lot, by the road it is at least 45 minutes and the ferry takes only 20 minutes. The road goes to the bottom of the fjord and back, it's long. We leave at 11:45 am in direction of Paros, a port southeast of Kefalonia. We had thought of going to Argostoli, but the weather forecast is not good for next week, so we start our return to Preveza. Five sailboats leave Argostoli and go in the same direction as us. We stop between a small island with a chapel (another one), let's stop Hera II and we take turns bathing. No need to anchor, there is no wind at all and Hera II stays in place. Jens bathes first then me. Like that, if the wind gets up, there is always someone on board. We have lunch on the way, the doggy bag of the restaurant last night, the rest of chicken. We continue to Poros, and after turning around the south cape, we still have a stop to swim. We are getting closer to Poros and the five sailboats are also heading to Poros. We had hoped to be able to go alongside (or rather, I had hoped), but there is not so much space and in addition, Jens wants to try the winch of the rear anchor. So we put our nose on the dock and the anchor in the back, no problem. We recognize Poros, we were there with our Maja in June 2015, along with the Longway of our friends Fritz and Margret. The ferry is here and takes many trucks. I believe that Poros is the great ferry port between Kefalonia and the mainland. The five boats are rented by a group of Ukrainians. We dine at the taverna Agrapidos, at the top of a staircase. Our neighbors are Ukrainian. The man says that he likes Hera II (translated by his companion) and she tells us that it is the first time that she is sailing.
