Going South Again by Car: 21.10.2019 Ormos Athera (Nord Céphalonie/North Cephalonia)

Beau, calme et chaud ! Nous allons avec le zodiac à la petite ile qui est juste derrière nous. Elle est rocheuse de tous les côtés, mais un petit quai et un escalier ont été aménagés à l’ouest. Nous amarrons le zodiac et montons. Une chapelle est à l’ombre, c’est vert et frais. Nous rentrons à Hera II, nous baignons et partons vers l’ouest, vers Céphalonie. Nous avons le temps et faisons de la voile pendant deux heures, en avançant à 3 nœuds, ça ne va pas vite. C’est si calme que je fais tout le blog en route. Nous retournons à Ormos Athera, une jolie baie au nord-ouest de Céphalonie que nous avions découverte en mai, cette année. Je ferai une carte à la fin de ce voyage sur Hera II pour placer tous ces endroits. C’est une baie ouverte vers le nord, donc on pourrait penser très exposée en cas de mauvais temps, mais dedans c’est calme. Une ile la protège et elle est légèrement inclinée. Nous ancrons, nous baignons et Jens va voir l’ancre. Elle n’est pas du tout accrochée. Mais en mettant le moteur en marche arrière et en reculant un peu, elle accroche. Nous allons à terre et, surprise, la taverna est encore ouverte. La jeune femme nous reconnait et nous la reconnaissons aussi. Nous allons nous promener un peu dans la vallée, retournons à Hera II, Jens fait cuire encore un peu ses confitures, je fais un sudoku, et à 7 h, nous allons diner à la taverna d’un bon poisson frais. Nous avons laissée Hera II avec sa lanterne d’ancrage (en haut du mat) et une lampe allumée. Nous rentrons en ramant dans la nuit noire.

Beautiful, calm and hot! We go with the zodiac to the small island that is right behind us. It is rocky on all sides, but a small wharf and a staircase have been built to the west. We moor the zodiac and go up. A chapel is in the shade, it is green and fresh here. We return to Hera II, we swim and go west towards Kefalonia. We have time and sail for two hours, making only 3 knots, it doesn’t go fast. It's so quiet that I'm doing the whole blog on the way. We return to Ormos Athera, a beautiful bay north-west of Kefalonia that we discovered in May, this year. I will make a map at the end of this trip on Hera II to place all these places. It's a bay open to the north, so you might think very exposed in case of bad weather, but inside it's quiet. An island protects her and it is slightly inclined. We anchor, we bathe and Jens goes to see the anchor. It is not hooked at all. But putting the engine in reverse and backing a bit, it hangs. We go ashore and, surprise, the taverna is still open. The young woman recognizes us and we recognize her too. We go for a walk in the valley, return to Hera II, Jens cook a little more his jams, I make a sudoku, and at 7 pm we go to dinner at the taverna and eat a good fresh fish. We left Hera II with her anchor light (top of the mast) and a lighted lamp. We come back rowing in the dark.
