27.09.2019. Tirana
Vendredi 27 septembre 2019
note est salée, pour ici : 520 leke (5 € ou 50 kr).

No big plan today. I'm going to see the big park of
Tirana which is 5 minutes by bike from the hotel. What a park! It is huge, is
completely closed to cars, contains a large artificial lake and many paths and
bike paths. A bike path makes it all around and I go there. I don’t go fast and
I stop taking photos but it takes me an hour and a half. Some parts are wild,
others more “civilized”. It is a popular place for walking, jogging or cycling.
The only downside is that it was built in 1955 under the communist regime, so
probably by prisoners of the regime. But we are in 2019 ... I am very happy
with my two blue flowers. I then go to the center and pass, by chance, in front
of "La Pâtisserie Française”, so I stop to have lunch here with a leek
quiche and a cappuccino, I’ll drink from my bottle of water after. The boss is
French and she wishes me a nice stay in Tirana, nice, but the note is high, for
here: 520 leke (5 € or 50 kr). I go to Scanderbeg Square and, as I'm thirsty,
take a big sip of "water" which turns out to be a very strong alcohol
that colleagues gave to Jens! It's in an old water bottle and I mistakenly took
it. I'm half choking, and have a good laugh. I see on the square a group dancing,
they are dressed like Greeks. I ask in the bookstore where they are from. The
guy thinks from southern Albania. I go home and feel normal, not drunk at all.
Jens returns a little later, pleased with his work here. He had a good lunch at
noon with his colleagues but me, my little quiche is already far. We go again
to the same restaurant called "Fraternité", the food is good,
original and always well presented. For example, they have today a lemon and
cheese risotto or grilled fennel with caramel sauce. Voilà, last night here, we
leave tomorrow towards Greece.
